The Protective Role of the Family

WISE Institute is pleased to announce its 2026 Annual Workshop, which will be held from June 19–21, 2026, at the Chestnut Retreat Center (7554 Mount Eaton Road, Saylorsburg, PA 18353).

This year’s theme, “The Protective Role of the Family,” will explore the family as a foundational institution in preserving moral integrity, social cohesion, psychological resilience, and intergenerational continuity. At a time when family structures face unprecedented social, cultural, and economic pressures, this workshop aims to examine the protective and stabilizing role of the family from multidisciplinary perspectives.

The program will bring together scholars and experts from various academic disciplines—including sociology, psychology, theology, education, law, and ethics—to address key questions such as:

How does the family function as a moral and social safeguard?

What challenges threaten family integrity in contemporary societies?

What protective mechanisms can strengthen families in pluralistic contexts?

How can academic research contribute to sustainable family models?

Through keynote presentations, panel discussions, and collaborative sessions, the workshop seeks to foster thoughtful dialogue, scholarly exchange, and constructive engagement.

WISE Institute organizes this annual gathering to provide a platform for serious intellectual reflection and interdisciplinary collaboration on issues of global relevance. We look forward to welcoming distinguished participants and contributing meaningfully to discussions on the future of family life and social well-being.

Further details regarding speakers and program schedule will be announced soon.
